Mr. Chipman focuses his practice in the areas of construction contract disputes and surety law. He provides counsel and legal services to sureties through all phases of payment and performance bonds claims, litigation and recovery. He advises sureties and handles commercial surety claims involving license and permit bonds. Mr. Chipman also represents private owners, contractors, subcontractors in all stages of commercial and residential construction. In addition, his experience includes the representation of individuals and corporations in various immigration matters involving all temporary and permanent work visas, family unification and citizenship. He believes that as an attorney it is his responsibility to commit his focused efforts and energy to each case until he has achieved the best result for his clients.
He has recently handled a series of matters for different sureties involving contractors who defaulted on multiple public works projects. These defaults resulted in multiple performance bond claims and no less than fifty bond payment claims. Mr. Chipman effectively worked with the project owners, the owners’ representative, subcontractors and suppliers in handling these claims.
He is also a skilled writer on legal issues, and has been published in the State Bar of Nevada's Construction Law Newsletter. While still in law school, Mr. Chipman volunteered with and was later hired by the school-administered Nevada Immigration Resource Project, where he taught seminars. Prior to that, Mr. Chipman worked in the immigration department at one of the largest law firms in the intermountain west.
A devoted long-distance runner, Mr. Chipman has completed fourteen marathons. He has also begun participating in triathlons and is a member of the local Tri Club. Mr. Chipman is married and spends most of his free time with his wife and children.
